Dirty Rice is a Southern classic for its versatility and rich flavour. Rice cooked in ground beef with deep and earthly flavoured spices and herbs that will make your taste buds scream with joy.
Add the beef to a pot over medium heat and use a cooking spoon to shred it so it doesn't clump up. Cook until it is brown and no more pink for 5-7 minutes.
If your beef has too much water, you will need to let some dry out.
Add the celery, onion, green onion, red bell pepper, and garlic, and stir well for about 3-5 minutes until they soften.
Add the salt, black pepper, bouillon, cajun, and chilli powder and stir until combined.
Add the washed rice and broth. Stir and cover the pot to boil for 15 minutes on medium heat. Keep adding water if needed.
Reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes until the water dries and the rice is tender.
Turn off the heat and leave the rice covered for 5 minutes to become fluffy.
