Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, these easy air fryer baked potatoes are ready in just 40 minutes. Perfect as a side or loaded with your favorite toppings.
Preheat your air fryer to 385F for about 3-5 minutes.
Scrub the potatoes clean under running water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Pierce each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking.
3 Large russet potatoes
Rub each potato with olive oil or spray it with oil, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
Cook the potatoes in the air fryer at 385F for 60 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes.
Halfway through the cooking time, flip the potatoes to ensure even cooking.
Once the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork, remove them from the air fryer.
Let the potatoes cool for a few minutes before slicing them open.
Notes
Use medium russet potatoes for best results.
Wash, scrub, and dry potatoes completely.
Pierce 4–6 times with a fork to prevent bursting.
Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C); don’t overcrowd basket.
Flip halfway and check doneness at 35 min; cook longer if needed.
Optional: Soak in cold water 30 min for extra fluffy insides.
Season with salt, pepper, herbs, or try toppings like cheese, sour cream, or bacon.
