These Southern Instant Pot Collard Greens come together in a flash with just five minutes of pressure cooking in an Instant Pot. Tender collard greens are cooked with smoky bacon, savory smoked turkey breast, and a blend of spices.
Wash and rinse collard greens well to remove dirt and debris. Remove the middle stems by pulling and tearing the greens away from their stems. Chop them into bite sizes. If you like the stems, finely chop them.
Press the "Sauté" option on high. Add cooking oil and cook the bacon till the edges are brown and crispy. Keep stirring to avoid sticking to the pot.
Add the onion and garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Pour a little broth to deglaze the pot. Stir while scraping the pot.
Add the remaining broth, cajun, salt, chilli, salt, black pepper, paprika, red wine vinegar and stir till combined.
Add the chopped collard greens and cooked turkey breast. Cover the instant pot and lock. Ensure the valve is sealed.
Press Cancel to remove the sauté option and press Custom, Manual, or Pressure Cook. Set the cooking time to 5 minutes and press start.
The instant pot will create pressure before the cooking time starts. After cooking time is done, do not force open or open the valve to release pressure. Allow the instant pot to release pressure naturally, this takes about 10-15 minutes.
