Mandazi originated from East Africa, the same as Mahamri. Please do not be confused because they are very different. Mandazi is almost identical to Gateau in Cameroon and Dry Bofrot in Ghana. It may be called differently in other countries, which I need to learn. I can testify that they are so good to serve with tea, coffee, and ice cream, and guess what? I sometimes enjoy them with fried beans or pap. They are so tasty and irresistible, just like Nigerian Buns or crispy turmeric buns.
