This one's a classic Christmas dessert recipe that's been around for quite some time now with the Rudolph Brownies. While I absolutely love making my milk filled donuts and mini coconut Bundt cakes whenever I get the chance, I just really wanted to try making a dessert that didn't need me to turn on the oven.
Yep. That's right. And this fudge was just the perfect one!

What I Love About this Recipe
It's an easy microwave fudge recipe! You don't need to turn on the oven or even use the stovetop. All you'll need is a few minutes, a handful of ingredients and your trusty microwave.
It tastes amazing! The decadent chocolate flavor and the soft, rich texture comes together perfectly to make the most delicious Christmas sweet treat.
It's customizable! I kept it simple and used classic ingredients here, but you can totally give it your spin and come up with something that you like!
It's a great make-ahead recipe! You can put it together over the weekend and enjoy it throughout the week!
Ingredients For the Easy Christmas Fudge Recipe
Chocolate chips: I used semisweet chocolate chips here. If you prefer a deeper chocolate flavor, feel free to use dark chocolate chips.
Condensed milk: This forms the base of the fudge, and is what gives it that sweetness and chewy texture. Use sweetened condensed milk.
Butter: This helps make the fudge extra rich and creamy. I would highly recommend using salted fudge.
Vanilla: Just a bit, to lend the fudge that beautiful sweet aroma.
Toppings: I kept it simple and just used some red, green and white sprinkles to make the fudge Christmas themed. You can also top it with some flaky sea salt or choose other toppings of your liking.
See recipe card for quantities.
Variations & Substitutions
- To make a delicious Christmas-y fudge, use peppermint extract instead of the classic vanilla extract.
- You can also make a vanilla fudge and use white chocolate chips instead of the classic milk chocolate chips to make a nice Christmas white chocolate fudge.
- Experiment with different toppings like chopped nuts, M&Ms, crushed pretzels, crushed candy cane and even mini marshmallows to make your own versions of the fudge.
- You can also use a mix of peanut butter chips and chocolate chips to make peanut butter chocolate fudge and top it with some salted roasted peanuts for that nice bit of crunch.
How to Make Easy Christmas Fudge
To make the easy Christmas fudge, you'll need to line your baking pan with parchment paper and grease it with some cooking spray. Do this in a way that you have a bit of extra parchment paper hanging out from two opposite ends. This will help you lift the fudge out from the pan easily.
- Get your chocolate chips, condensed milk and butter ready.
- Combine them all in a large bowl and microwave for a minute. Stir.
- Keep microwaving the mixture, stopping at every 30 second interval to stir, until you get a uniform consistency.
- Transfer the mixture to the lined baking pan and top with the sprinkles.
- Sprinkle the entire surface of the fudge mixture and pop it in the refrigerator to set for about an hour or so.
- Get it out and use a sharp knife to cut it into squares. Serve
Storing Leftovers
If you have any leftover homemade Christmas fudge (I'm shocked you do!), you can store it in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days, if not longer. I would really recommend refrigerating it to help it hold its shape better.
You can also freeze the fudge if you want to, but honestly, if you ask me- it just takes a few minutes to make, so it's best to make it fresh whenever you want to.
Tips & Tricks to Make Christmas Fudge
- If you don't want to use the microwave, you can melt the chocolate chips over a double boiler. This may take a bit more time, but it does work wonderfully.
- You can also use any other cooking chocolate for this recipe if you don't have chocolate chips. I would recommend using a high quality chocolate like Callebaut to get that perfect rich chocolate flavor.
- Use room temperature butter for this recipe, and whisk the mixture properly to make sure there are no blobs of butter that haven't incorporated into the mixture.
- Keep whisking the mixture at every 30 second interval and stop when the chocolate melts. Overheating the chocolate will cause it to seize and will turn grainy.
- You can also make Christmas swirl fudge by topping the chocolate fudge with a layer of melted chocolate in green and red colors (which you can make by combining white chocolate with food coloring) and swirl them together to create a nice pattern.

Recipe FAQs
The key to have those perfect pieces of the fudge is to use a sharp knife and to wipe it clean with a kitchen towel between every cut that you make.
To help the sprinkles stick to the fudge and to keep them from falling off, sprinkle them on when the fudge is still warm. You can also slightly press down on the surface to help them stick if you want to.
